My contribution / Project leadership

FOR THE CULTURE.
For the people behind it.

I led this project with a clear priority: celebrate HBCU basketball while creating paid opportunities for the Black talent telling its story.

I worked with the four schools and selected the components that brought the capsule together—from the product and historical references to student journalism, the creator partnership, and the donation component. I coordinated contributors across the project and made sure participants from the schools were compensated.

As a Howard graduate, this was personal. I’m proud that the project put money in the hands of Black contributors while giving back through a portion of proceeds designated for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

02 / Creative partnership

Culture captured
by the community.

The campaign partnered with Cameron Lide, founder of HBCU Drip and a Winston-Salem State student, with film photography by Lide and Marquise Baxter.

03 / Giving back

Commerce with
community purpose.

The collection connected retro basketball product, student storytelling, paid participation, and a commitment to donate a portion of proceeds to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.

My role in context

HBCU capsule leadership

I led the SLAM × 19Nine HBCU capsule project, working with Howard, Hampton, Morehouse, and Coppin State to connect each school’s basketball heritage with product and storytelling. I selected the project components and coordinated the school relationships, student journalists, creator partnership, donation component, and ecommerce execution. I also made sure the participating contributors from the schools were paid.

Store operations & merchandising

As Ecommerce Specialist, I managed the daily responsibilities of the SLAM Shopify store with the merchandise team. My scope included product uploads, descriptions, photography uploads, site integrations, API connections, functionality, and feature initiatives. I also led ecommerce merchandising strategy and coordinated supply and demand forecasting.

Launch readiness & fulfillment

I worked with logistics teams to prepare seasonal product and special-project allocations accurately and efficiently for market. I coordinated directly with the fulfillment center on inbound and outbound merchandise shipments, connecting store execution with allocation and delivery requirements.

Customer operations & results

I oversaw customer satisfaction, complaint handling and resolution, policy development, retail, sales, fraud detection, and reporting analytics. Across my SLAM experience, seasonal product launches contributed to a 25% quarterly sales increase, and better logistics coordination reduced fulfillment errors by 15%. These are role-wide results, not capsule-specific performance claims.
